I'd have to throw away the whole camera just because the on button broke or the eject mechanism failed. Very little internal parts to go bad, like the video cameras of old. Other than that, it's the best camera I have ever owned. The only drawback is that it does need substantial lighting, because this camera does not work really well under low light conditions. When I edit the footage together, there is no difference in quality which makes it match up perfectly.
